iFLY Queenstown: A smarter way to capture the thrill
For iFLY Queenstown, CapChur has transformed media from a simple recording of the experience into an automated extension of the experience itself.

Located in the heart of Queenstown, iFLY Queenstown delivers one of New Zealand’s most unique adventure experiences. As the country’s only indoor skydiving centre, the attraction welcomes a high volume of guests into an environment that is fast-moving, visually spectacular - and notoriously difficult to capture well. In July 2026, iFLY Queenstown officially implemented CapChur. It has proven to be a successful business decision, not simply because of the improvement in media quality, but because CapChur fundamentally changed how guest media could be captured, created, delivered and sold.
The challenge: capturing an experience that never happens exactly the same way twice
Indoor skydiving presents unusual challenges for a traditional media system. Flyers move rapidly throughout the chamber, lighting conditions are complex, and the best moments can happen anywhere in the tunnel. During a High Flight, a flyer and instructor travel rapidly towards the top of the wind tunnel , a moment that requires more than one static camera and does not happen at a predictable time. Traditional landscape footage struggled to convey the scale and height of the experience, especially on a mobile phone.
Multiple angles. One complete experience.
CapChur allowed cameras to be positioned around the flight chamber, capturing the experience from multiple perspectives. Close-up footage can hold a flyer’s reactions and expressions, while wide angles demonstrate the scale of the tunnel and the height reached during a High Flight. Instead of relying on one view, CapChur brings the angles together into one cohesive finished video , much closer to the experience the guest remembers.
Using computer vision to understand what is happening
CapChur can analyse what is happening within each camera frame rather than only editing around predetermined timestamps. At iFLY, this allows the system to identify people entering particular areas of the tunnel and recognise events that would otherwise be difficult to locate automatically. The High Flight is the perfect example: CapChur can identify when the event occurs and build the edit around it, enabling specialised High Flight videos alongside shorter social edits and longer full-experience films.
Built for the way customers actually share content
CapChur creates content specifically for modern social platforms, including 9:16 vertical video for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. For iFLY, the vertical format naturally suits the shape of the wind tunnel and captures the scale of a flyer travelling upwards. Guests can also be prompted to share their experience and receive customised hashtags ready to copy into their posts.
Turning missed media sales into revenue
Not every customer purchases media before their experience. CapChur gives them a second opportunity by automatically delivering a preview to their inbox after the flight. If they decide they want it, they can purchase directly through the CapChur experience and immediately access their media , with no counter visit or manual sales process. Crucially, the media revenue remains with the operator: CapChur takes no commission.

A platform that keeps evolving
For iFLY, CapChur is more than a way to solve today’s media requirements. The platform continues to develop alongside camera hardware, artificial intelligence and the way customers consume content. The result is a media system designed for where experience media is heading next , transforming every flight from a simple recording into an automated extension of the experience itself.
